We have used Eucerin’s Original Healing “Repair Cream” for years and recently have had difficulty finding it on the shelf at the drugstore. We ordered this version hoping it would be close to our old favorite (shown in photo).

Really works for me

My dermatologist said I would have to use steroids for the eczema on my hands about one day per week for the rest of my life. I was concerned about what I thought were some side effects of that, plus my hands were still breaking out every week. A friend said her dermatologist had recommended Eucerin creme to her. I tried it, using a moderate amount twice a day and frankly, after its being helpful the first few days, it wasn’t working. Then my hands got so bad that I knew from experience it would take the steroid a full week to clear up the lumps and so I decided it was time to get serious about giving the Eucerine creme a chance. I put on a thin amount and rub it in (just like they tell you to rub a steroid creme in). When rubbed in it looks no more white than my sunscreen does. It is greasy for a while, but then it fully absorbs. I use it whenever I wash my hands. If my hands itch or sting, rather than ignoring it as I sometimes would, I immediately wash my hands and put on the creme again. So I’m putting it on at least 6 times a day. Within 2 days there was a radical improvement. Within a week, my hands were back to normal. I will continue to use Eucerin creme every time I wash my hands…I had tried many products for my eczema. I know different ones work for different people, but for me, this is the one!

I have used this cream for 20 years. I will never use anything on my face again. It keeps it moist and stays that way all day. It is a great base for any base. I occasionally mix it with a base color.

very rich and fragrance free

Both my kids have severe eczema and their skins are very dry. I’ve tried just about all kinds of common and uncommon remedies, weak to extremely strong topical steroids and none of them worked on my daughter who I had the most difficulties with in terms of her skin. Before she turned one, we had to rush her to the ER at least once every two, three weeks because she would very often break out in hives and rash up and ooze and bleed from head to toe. Most pediatricians would recommend Aquaphor which I’d tried on my daughter. It helped with the dryness of her skin for about the first 3 weeks and then I started noticing little skin-tag like bumps around the back of her neck and then eventually her chest. I figured it was probably blocking her pores. And because Aquaphor doesn’t necessarily moisturize the skin but mainly seals in moisture; so if my daughter’s skin doesn’t have any moisture on it, like right after a shower and before drying her up with a towel, then applying Aquaphor wouldn’t do much on a very dry skin person. And more so you’d feel a bit greasy on your skin. Eucerin, on the other hand, moisturizes and seals in moisture on the skin. For my kids’ super dry skins, lotions including Eucerin lotions are too runny and would evaporate within minutes. So, so far this product has been a daily routine application on my kids right after a bath/shower and even before they enter a swimming pool as a barrier from the chlorine. In addition, I still find it helpful by lotioning them up RIGHT after shower because this way, it gives my kids’ skins extra moisture for a longer period of time. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because for as much as my kids use (about one tub every two to three weeks!!!), this is a little pricier than I wish it was.

Helps painful, chapped winter skin!

Eucerin makes many creme and lotion products but THIS exact product is the stuff to use for brutally dry hands in winter. I have sensitive skin that dries profoundly in winter and chaps to painful splits. Normal lotions and moisturizers sting horribly and cause worse suffering but THIS product is so cooling and soothing and does not further irritate my skin! This is a serious creme that provides incredible relief and promotes healing, but it is not a quick-absorb lotion so you will need gloves (cotton is best) if you want to ‘go on with’ doing things while using this product, and to give the creme time to do it’s job. I put it on gently and thoroughly, top it with gloves and leave for an hour or more, then remove the gloves, wipe off any excess, and follow with a normal soap and water hand washing if the hands are still a little slick. The results are nothing short of amazing. Hands that once looked like 100 year-old battle-scarred lizard skin are returned summer softness!

Retains moisture EXTREMELY well. I have psoriasis and cremes (not lotions as they dry out) are a great non-RX addition to help moisturize your skin. It kind of is weird to put on, or maybe I should say different than other creams. Usually you slather it on and can rub in easily, but this cream will go on your skin in a “clump” (wherever you put it) and then you have to really manually move it around to get an area covered. I am okay to deal with that though, due to it’s efficacy. It’s great to use if you don’t shower/bathe everyday (as it’s best to use after your skin is damp to retain moisture); it still moisturizes and does the job EXCELLENTLY, just as good as when out of the shower. Highly recommend for anyone, from dry skinners, to those with skin conditions (doctor permitting), and even just your everyday personage with no skin issues. It is a treat for your skin.

My skin has been very dry since I can remember and I have bought just about every brand of cream, lotion, etc on the market today. I even purchased the very expensive creams and lotions etc from my Dermatologist’s office too! I just could not find any cream that helped the dry itchy feeling and rough texture of my skin. Finally, just by accident I was drying my grandson Thatcher after his bath and my daughter uses Eucerin cream on his baby skin. I of course got some on my hands while rubbing it into his skin and my skin felt so so hydrated even many hours later! It is a lot cheaper than any cream or lotion that I got with prescriptions and WAY BETTER FOR MY SKIN TOO! If you have dry skin or want to prevent dry skin please try EUCERIN. I would never have believed it if I had not tried it in myself!!

Effective but Slimy

My hands get REALLY dry during the winter. I’m adamant about hand-washing during cold and flu season, and my skin pays the price. This Eucerin cream is very effective at replenishing moisture and eliminating dry skin. The only downfall is the very slimy residue that is left after application. I only apply this lotion at night when I don’t have any place to go.

The BEST Skin Creme

I believe Eucerin Original is still the most hydrating and healing creme on the market. In the last couple years, I haven’t seen in on as many store shelves in various states in the country as in the past and that’s unfortunate. All the products in the Eucerin line are great, but this one is still the best. It is thicker and requires a little more “rubbing in” and perhaps that moves it down the popular list in this “everything must happen fast” culture. Do take the time to rub it in on problem areas like cuticles, heels, knees and sun-parched skin, but use it everywhere. It’s also a must have for babies and growing children. I’ve used various cremes from very good, well-known lines but none of them rises to the benefits of Eucerin. Honestly, this has been my favorite, most indispensable skin creme for years! When I couldn’t find it this southern California town, I panicked. But, on Amazon everything can be found and its pack-of-2 deal is fantastic. The huge 16-ounce tubs will last a very long time. Eucerin is for everyone and for all the time.

I have been dealing with dry skin since I was 15 so it has been a problem for me. Dermatologists have consistently recommended Eucerin Original Healing to me and I have been using this product successfully. I am 77 years old now and I still use this product. I have lived in suburban and rural areas and Eucerin products have kept me from looking like a dried up prune. For last several years, I also started using Eucerin facial moisturizer with sucess. There are no fragrances which can cause skin irritations and Eucerin absorbs in my skin immediately. Eucerin is a winner for dry skin.
